These booklets have been created by the Auckland Sexual Abuse HELP Foundation to provide information for parents and caregivers of young women who have experienced sexual abuse. They contain general information for providing support following a disclosure, information about the effects of sexual abuse on young women and their families, along with information about services.

Like a stone dropped in a pond, the ripples spread widely, affecting every family member in some way. Following a disclosure of sexual abuse, ONE PATH AHEAD for your family may include statutory agency involvement such as the NZ Police or Child, Oranga Tamariki (OT), as well as follow-up care by other sexual abuse support services. The information in this booklet has been compiled to assist you with your decision making and preparation for this type of path.
